Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Band 5 Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician to join our clients well-established hospital team in Liverpool. This is a full-time, 6-month contract position with an immediate start available in November/December. As a Pharmacy Technician in Medicines Management, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient use of medicines across the hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Medicines Management team in the safe distribution and administration of medication across hospital departments.
Conduct medication reviews, including the review of clinical records and drug histories.
Ensure compliance with legal and hospital policies regarding medication storage, handling, and administration.
Provide expert advice to healthcare professionals on medicines use, including drug interactions, side effects, and dosing.
Participate in stock management and control, including stock rotation, ordering, and inventory management.
Assist in the training and development of junior pharmacy staff.
Contribute to audit and quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy service.
Requirements:
Hospital experience is essential.
Qualified Pharmacy Technician with current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Demonstrable experience in medicines management, ideally within a hospital or clinical setting.
Strong understanding of hospital pharmacy practice and clinical guidelines.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
Salary:
Band 5
Hourly Rates: £17 – £21 per hour, depending on experience.
