About the Role
As a Purchasing and Inventory Administrator, you will oversee the purchasing and inventory management for a range of materials and vendors. Your efforts will directly support production plans and service activities, ensuring our supply chain runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and issue purchase orders for raw materials.
- Administer and verify supplier order confirmations.
- Coordinate with suppliers, logistics, and shipping agents to ensure timely deliveries.
- Expedite supplies when necessary to meet production schedules.
- Produce and manage the Weekly Traffic Control Schedule to maintain efficient goods flow.
- Reconcile Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and resolve queries for invoice processing.
- Oversee stock levels for third-party contract packing operations.
- Monitor and adjust inventory levels to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
- Address and resolve issues with sub-standard goods.
- Track vendor performance and ensure compliance with agreed KPIs.
- Maintain and update supplier records with regular housekeeping routines.
- Participate in Purchasing, Planning, and Sales & Operations Planning meetings.
What Youll Bring
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in procurement, ideally in the food or food packing industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and intermediate-level Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills to interpret and manage data.
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Organisation: Ability to prioritise tasks and meet business deadlines.
- Collaboration: A team player who thrives in both independent and group settings.
- Commercial Awareness: Understanding of financial and commercial considerations.
