Freight Forwarder

We are recruiting an experienced Freight Forwarder for our client in Lichfield, Staffs, WS13
This is a permanent role working with one of the transport industry's most wellknown brands.
This is a mixed role that involves elements of transport operations and business development

Salary:
£37,500pa + bonus opportunity

Hours of work:
40 hours pw (days) - actual hours to be discussed at interview

Days of work:
Monday to Friday

The Role:

• Coordinating shipments both in UK and EU
• Working is existing client base and exploring new business opportunities
• Invoicing and pricing
• Customs entriesfor overseas shipments
• Quotes, costing, booking and shipping
• Tracking shipments from collection to delivery
• Finding solutions to customer requirements
• Responding to internal and external emails
• Dealing with internal and external stakeholders including sub-contract hauliers and other transport providers

Required:

• Experience in the freight forwarding industry (or similar)
• 2 years transport industry experience (preferred) - ideally in road transport
• Strong organisational and problem solving skills
• A collaborativeapproach with both internal and external stakeholder to ensure both import and export of goods
• Knowledge of customs requirements, processes and procedures
• Operational and sales (business development) experience is an advantage
• Groupage experience (desirable)
