Our Role
The Supplier Manager is responsible for Supplier Management and Vendor Compliance. This role sits within the Head Supply Chain team and will work with B&M, DC and Finance as well as the wider supply chain team supplier management and performance, and ownership of Vendor compliance best practise.
The responsibility for this role lies within the early stages of the supply chain from Supplier set-up/ onboarding through to managing exceptions when stock arrives in the DC, and monitoring supplier delivery performance.
What youll be doing
Supplier Management Manage new supplier set-up process with all relevant depts (B&M, Finance, Supply Chain) to ensure Suppliers are set-up in a timely and efficient way. Maintain a centralised Supplier database Ownership and management of all TWC Supplier communications, responsible for identifying where supplier comms is required and signing off all messages with relevant SLT. Also responsible for the Supplier Info inbox including monitoring and fielding/ forwarding supplier queries to relevant business areas. Manage and organise Supplier conferences and workshops, agreeing frequency, budgets, agenda points and business input with SLT. Conduct Supplier surveys and present back results and lessons learnt to relevant team members. Work with wider business to support non-stock depts onboarding suppliers to ensure compliance standards across supply base Collaborate with our partner brand Charles Tyrwhitt to review alignment of supply base and identify / implement dual sourcing opportunities Identify and propose opportunities to out-source sourcing/ procurement specialist to support strategic goals.
Supplier Compliance Responsible for setting up Supplier Compliance best practise. Assessing changes to business & supply chain and updating best practise where necessary. Regularly work with and visit DC to monitor inbound supplier performance, working alongside DC Operations mgr. and Inbound mgr. to improve process flow and efficiency of inbound operation eg: supplier paperwork, carton sizes, supplier loading plans. Set-up, collate and produce regular and ad hoc reports on Supplier performance; score card, fines for non compliance, Top 20 suppliers, Annual supplier review packs, etc and measure against agreed KPIs. Work with buying teams, Inbound Manager and individual suppliers to manage significant performance issues and ensure action plans are in place and future performance monitored. Overall Accountability for the TWC Supplier Manual, supported by input from other functional areas (e.g. DC operations, finance, CSR, QA, legal) Produce regular supplier performance reporting and lessons learnt, for SLT/ B&M/QA/DC teams. Collaborate with the Sustainability & Compliance team to align on strategic goals and KPIs for the supply base and to produce comprehensive supplier reporting on all aspects of the supply base.
Misc Ensure training materials are updated with changes to business processes on Supplier Management and Supplier Compliance. Provide necessary training to business on above areas as and when required
What skills & experience youll need
Considerable and relevant experience of Supplier management/ Supplier compliance in a retail environment Experienced in leadership and management with the ability to make complex decisions and recommendations. Ability to articulate complex concepts with excellent communication skills to all levels in the business Ability to work with and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to work well on own initiative and as part of a team. Experience of delivering process improvements within the Supply Chain through IT and Business Process solutions Able to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure. Excellent presentation and report-writing skills. The ability to produce high-quality business documentation and to write and deliver training materials. Numerate with good attention to detail.
