Join one of the largest infrastructure projects in Europe as a Night Shift Construction Delivery Manager at Hinkley Point C (HPC). This pivotal role forms part of the Construction Delivery Group and involves overseeing construction activities during night shifts, ensuring all safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives are met.
As a Night Shift Construction Delivery Manager, you will coordinate with Tier 1 contract partners to manage construction delivery for designated areas within the Nuclear Island. You will provide leadership to ensure seamless integration of works, maintain high safety standards, and contribute to the successful delivery of this iconic project.
Principal Accountabilities
* Health, Safety & Environment: Champion safety standards on-site, conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with the Construction Phase Plan.
* Coordination: Manage the nightly operations of designated areas, liaising with Tier 1 contractors to ensure alignment with the overall project schedule.
* Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues impacting safety, quality, or progress by implementing temporary measures and escalating concerns as required.
* Team Leadership: Support and develop the team to ensure they are equipped to perform their roles effectively, offering training and guidance as necessary.
* Communication: Proactively liaise with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain consistent and transparent reporting.
* Documentation & Reporting: Ensure daily site logs, progress reports, and performance indicators are completed accurately and submitted on time.
* Compliance Monitoring: Oversee adherence to Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and maintain comprehensive Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) for construction activities.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Significant experience in managing large-scale construction projects.
* Strong knowledge of commercial principles affecting construction delivery.
* NEBOSH, SMSTS, or IOSH certification.
* Relevant degree (or equivalent) in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or Construction.
* Comprehensive understanding of CDM regulations and construction planning processes.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to produce concise and informative reports under time constraints.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
* Experience in a high-security or nuclear environment.
* Familiarity with project management software and tools such as QCFC, FieldView, and SWITCH.
* Knowledge of heavy engineering or multi-disciplinary project coordination.
