The Head of Sales is a vital link in the future success of the Polestar brand. Polestar will start to expand its activities within the French Market. This, together with the transition from a one-car company to a three-car company, will continue to accelerate our progress as a leader in the automotive industry.
Polestar is looking for a dynamic Executive with strong commercial experience to turn that experience into a thriving, fast-paced sales organization. Someone who can build a new market from scratch to a big local success in France.
This position is located in the west of Paris, France, with expectations for travel to meet with partners in the market. We believe in a hybrid model when it comes to remote and onsite work, knowing that both in-person collaboration and individual time to focus are needed. What matters most is that people get the time and support to do what needs to be done. And to enjoy doing it, of course.
What you'll do
- Lead, develop and deliver the company’s sales activities.
- Own Polestar’s sales performance; achieving monthly, quarterly and annual sales and profitability targets.
- Develop and maintain Polestar’s representation with major leasing companies, rental partners, and large corporate end user customers.
- Develop the NGA model to make retail partners accountable for sales performance and increase Polestar’s overall volume with retail and B2B customers.
- Manage the fleet sales team to grow sales to existing accounts, develop new end user accounts and optimise daily activities to grow sales.
- Manage and develop Polestar’s Pre-Owned programme with retail partners. Manage and develop Polestar’s remarketing strategy and disposal channels to improve RV positioning.
- Cultivate the day-to-day relationship with Polestar agents (the network) by steering towards commercial- and customer relationship KPIs and targets.
- Leverage insights and strategic discussions with key external and internal stakeholders on market opportunities and developments.
- Cooperate with the Order to Delivery team to ensure cars are delivered on time and in line with targets.
- Work with the POD team to ensure a balanced flow of production, variant mix, and inventory.
- Lead and develop a team of Zone Managers within your market.
- Develop and maintain a suite of sales reports, including a sales development plan to address any under-performance, and manage the escalation process together with the Head of Operations.
- Be an active member of the French management team.
Who you are
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated leader who, despite extensive experience, remains hands-on, hardworking, and committed to leading by example. You will be a demonstrated leader who not only brings expertise but also inspires and guides teams to achieve their best.
The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, along with exceptional interpersonal abilities that enable them to build trust and maintain accountability with external partners.
You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including oratory capabilities, with a proven track record of effectively delivering key messages to live audiences. A passion for cars, technology, and emerging trends is essential.
- 10+ years of experience in a sales role (New cars, fleet business, used car sales and remarketing activity) with preferably a bachelor’s degree in Business.
- You are driven, committed, and have experience driving commerce in the automotive industry.
- Proven leader with experience at an automotive OEM; retail experience a plus.
- Experienced with NGA and Direct selling business models as a nice to have.
- Experience of working in an order to delivery environment and knowledge of the constraints it puts on sales in the month, for the month.
- Extensive contacts within the Fleet and Business sales environment at lease company, major daily rental, and large corporate end user level.
- Your experience hasn’t made you complacent. You are hands-on, hardworking, and a demonstrated leader who puts their expertise to work.
- Extensive knowledge of sales programs in traditional, digital and social landscapes.
- Project management skills: ability to effectively manage many tasks simultaneously.
