QA Supervisor - Savoury - 12 Month Contract

Location: Crewe - Wrights Food Group
Salary: £31,000
Hours: Mon-Thurs 8am to 4.30pm Fri 8am to 3.30pm

We currently have a great opportunity for a QA Supervisor to join us at our site in Crewe. This will be a 12 month Contract.

The main purpose of this role is to carry out technical and supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.

Key Duties

  • Implementation and maintenance of customer COP
  • Support and assist with Unannounced Audit preparation including BRC and Audit Performance.
  • Investigate customer complaints and actively reduce
  • Maintain Quality Management System
  • Carry out Internal Audits to ensure ready and prepared for customer and external auditors at any given moment.
  • Provide Quality/ Food Safety Training to Production teams
  • Management of the pest control site visits and non-conformance close outs
  • Validation work
  • Drive Factory Hygiene and Quality Standards
  • Manage Environmental Swabbing Plan, Paperwork compliance checks, Taste Panel results, GMP, Glass & Plastic audits and relevant non-conformances
  • Raise Supplier complaints
  • Train factory staff on any required procedures
  • Create and prepare procedures, forms, and product quality standards
  • Record and Report on Technical KPI's
  • Coordinate product trials
  • Be able to carry out intake checks of product delivered to site
  • Coach production workers on numerous areas, including areas such as ; Allergen running sequences, CCP's, Food Safety, and Control Material Usage Variance (Life)
  • Follow up and review schedule for the following; Daily production date checks, Daily interface/support, Weekly review with Tech Managers, supervisors and planners, Swab % results, Raw Material Issues, Shelf Life Results, and Product Quality.

Qualification's and Experience:

  • Level 3 Food Safety and Hygiene
  • Level 3 HACCP
  • Experience in a QA Role in a food manufacturing environment

Key Skills and Knowledge:

  • Microbiology
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, i.e., paperwork
  • Metal Detection higher level knowledge
  • Must be able to communicate effectively across departments and work well with others
  • Good English (written, verbal) and good basic numeracy
  • Ability to work in an organized, methodical manner
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to understand & apply the requirements stated by line manager of; current applicable food legislation, BRC Global Standard, and customer codes of practice
  • Good analytical abilities
  • Able to coach on procedures and process, when non-conformance is identified
