Sous Chef
  • £40,000 per annum

More about the role:

Haydock Park is one of the UK’s premier racecourses, offering a vibrant atmosphere and hosting top-tier events throughout the year. Our venue is renowned not just for racing but also for our exceptional food and service. We take pride in delivering outstanding culinary experiences, from fine dining to large-scale banquets.
  • Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking to ensure consistency and efficiency
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Contribute to menu development with creative and innovative ideas
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen
  • Manage inventory and ordering to minimise waste and control costs

About you:
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume, high-quality kitchen
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
  • A passion for fresh, seasonal ingredients and innovative cooking techniques
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive under pressure
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on race days as required
  • A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and safety
