Who You Are
You are a compassionate professional with a commitment to supporting vulnerable people to live independently in their own homes. You possess knowledge of relevant legislation affecting vulnerable individuals, including older adults and those living with chronic illnesses or domestic violence situations. You have strong IT skills and can discreetly handle confidential issues, exercising excellent judgment in emergency situations. You are flexible, able to work shifts, including nights, and hold a full, clean driving license. Your experience includes supporting vulnerable people and providing excellent customer service.
What the Job Involves
As a Telecare Officer, you provide 24-hour emergency and support services to Lewisham's Telecare users, visiting them at home and offering first aid when necessary. Your role includes handling calls through a computerised system, assessing emergencies, and liaising with emergency services and healthcare professionals. You maintain accurate records and partake in equipment installation and fault reporting. You ensure service equality and take part in shifts to support continuous care, while also participating in training, team meetings, and maintaining the council’s environmental policy. This role demands a respectful approach to diverse communities and policies, with a focus on safety and team collaboration.
