Gantry Inspector

OBM are currently recruiting for a Gantry Inspector for our oil and gas service provider client based in Aberdeen.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting inbound and outbound cargo, recording and reporting non-conformance.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Inspect all cargo delivered to the gantry in accordance with OGUK Best Practice Safe Packing and Handling of Cargo to and from Offshore Locations and the clients Global Operating Procedure
• Check off cargo against cargo summary ticket
• Ensure all cargo complies with client shipping matrix
• Accurately record all discrepancies and raise non-conformances and SIDs as required
• Liaise with Shipping Controllers and other quayside personnel as required
• Liaise with delivery drivers to ensure correct documentation is used
• Confirm dangerous goods documentation and labelling as correct
• Take part in effective LiveSafe conversations before commencement of job task and or when conditions change
• Conduct Live Safe Interventions (LSI) and record for inclusion on base scorecard
• Attend and contribute to monthly safety meetings
• Regularly review procedures, work aids and risk assessments
• Ensure the correct use of Forklifts and Lifting equipment as set out in legislative and procedural policy; If authorised to carry out lifting activities (Forklift Operations / Banksman & Slinger duties), ensure that they are carried out in accordance with the Company's Group Operating Procedures and Global Lifting Procedures
• Ad-hoc duties as required in line with applicable training/competency assessments undertaken

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5 - 15 Ton Counterbalance Forklift
• Banksman Slinger - OPITO Stage
