We are searching for an experienced, compassionate, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a thriving school in Wythenshawe. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of young learners.
The Role
This position offers a unique chance to work closely with students who need extra support due to SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and social, emotional, or mental health difficulties. You'll work one-on-one or in small groups, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs and fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Supporting students inside and outside the classroom to boost their confidence and academic performance.
Collaborating with teachers and the SENCO to create tailored learning plans.
Promoting positive behaviour management and social interaction.
Helping with sensory and therapeutic activities tailored to the students needs.
Acting as a trusted mentor, providing emotional support to ensure students feel valued and understood.
About You

Experienced: You've worked in a similar role supporting children with SEN, with proven success in managing challenging behaviour.

Empathetic: You understand the unique needs of SEN students and know how to build trust and rapport.
Proactive: You're ready to jump in, take initiative, and contribute positively to the school community.
Requirements
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
Strong understanding of SEN strategies and interventions.
Current, up-to-date Safeguarding training (we can help if you need this).
Right to Work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS (registered with the online update service) or willingness to process a new application.
