Position: SEN Deputy Headteacher
Location: Croydon
Salary: £200 - £330 per day
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm
Starting: ASAP
Contract: Temp to perm
Requirements: QTS and experience leading teachers and school staff
About the Role
Prospero Teaching is recruiting for an experienced Deputy Headteacher to assist in the leadership and management of a Secondary Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in South Croydon. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the school while supporting the Headteacher and staff in delivering outstanding education to pupils with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the daily running of the school, ensuring that operational, safeguarding, and educational standards are met.
Lead and manage a team of staff, including teachers and support staff, providing guidance and professional development.
Develop and implement school policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning outcomes to support continuous improvement.
Oversee pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing, ensuring personalised support for all students.
Collaborate with parents, carers, and external agencies to maintain strong partnerships and effective communication.
Support the Headteacher in strategic planning and decision-making to drive the school's vision and ethos.
Lead assemblies, organise staff meetings, and oversee key areas of the curriculum or pastoral care.
Requirements:
QTS
Previous experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in an SEN or secondary school setting.
A strong understanding of SEN education and strategies to support diverse needs.
Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
The ability to inspire and motivate staff and students alike.
Proven experience in school improvement and leadership.
