Job Title: Expeditor / Assistant Buyer
Location: Hampshire, UK

Key Responsibilities:
Generate Supplier Order Books:
* Create and maintain supplier order books to ensure timely procurement of materials.
* Coordinate with procurement team to align orders with production schedules and inventory requirements.
* Utilise MRP systems to manage and track orders accurately.
Communicate Directly with Suppliers:
* Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers to expedite purchase orders.
* Proactively communicate with suppliers to resolve any issues or delays in deliveries.
* Negotiate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards.
Work Closely with the Procurement Team:
* Collaborate with the procurement team to develop and implement purchasing strategies.
* Assist in supplier selection and evaluation processes.
* Provide support for sourcing activities and vendor management initiatives.
Process Purchase Orders:
* Review purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders accurately.
* Verify pricing, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with company policies.
* Coordinate with accounts payable to resolve any discrepancies in invoicing.
Participation in Improvement Activities:
* Actively participate in improvement projects within the purchasing team.
* Identify opportunities for process optimisation and cost savings.
* Contribute ideas and suggestions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement processes.
Requirements:
* Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management preferred.
* Knowledge of ERP systems
* Experience of Syspro 7+ is desirable.
* CIPS Qualification Level 2+ would be advantageous.
