*What you’ll be doing...*The Supply Chain Senior Manager will be responsible for the management of transportation activities related to Wireless Device Supply Chain. This includes transportation from our distribution centers to our end customers, Retail Stores, Indirect Agents as well as returns to our Centralized Returns Tech Centers. Additionally, you will be responsible for the management of multiple carriers across multiple modes of transport, including small parcel, LTL, & TL. You will have responsibilities to hit budget targets as well as hold carrier partners accountable to meet SLA targets.
The position will evaluate the current transportation model and identify and implement strategies that will decrease costs while meeting service level commitments. You will be responsible for the analysis and implementation of cost containment initiatives and process improvements across our transportation network while considering the impact on inventory planning, warehouse operations, inbound receiving and end customers. You will work with cross functional matrix teams while implementing new projects. Additionally, you will need to work closely with warehouse operations teams to ensure tight collaboration between the groups. Lastly, carrier and 3PL management is an integral part of the role and you will be expected to interact daily with both in order to ensure mutual success in exceeding our customer’s expectations.
Liaising with internal and external parties, as it relates to Device Transportation.
Supporting NPI Device Launches and Peak Season Planning.
Monitoring, analyzing and reporting on Key Performance Indicators.
Evaluating current transportation models and identifying and implementing strategies that will decrease costs while meeting service level commitments.
Driving tactical transportation cost containment initiatives & processes within our Retail, Indirect, & Direct Fulfillment channels.
Leading analysis and implementation of cost containment initiatives and process improvements across our transportation network while considering the impact on inventory planning, warehouse operations, inbound receiving and store receiving.
Defining and driving alternative operational models to contain inbound shipping costs.
Leading cross functional pilots to demonstrate and evaluate alternative transportation models.
Developing data driven business cases to support improvement efforts.
Leading implementation of new processes including project planning, resource planning, change management and training.
Interfacing with Global Supply Chain IT to identify and drive system enhancements.
Managing the development and launching of new carrier alternatives.
Acting as subject matter expert for communication with fulfillment centers, transportation operations and cross-functional teams.
Managing vendor implementation of new technology and process improvements.
You’ll need to have:
Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Supply chain experience.
Experience with small parcel transportation.
Experience managing third party vendor management staff on daily performance issues.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Masters degree in Supply Chain, IE or a related field preferred.
Ability to lead projects and handle multiple tasks to meet required deadlines on time.
Effectively embraces change and adapts to current business needs.
Excellent computer skills, including all MS Office products, SAP, ITTS, Tableau and inventory systems.
