Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager with a background in civil engineering and earthworks to join their team. This role will be based at their Head Office in Greater Manchester, with responsibilities covering the North West region.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Contracts Manager, your main duties will include:
Overseeing the completion of contracts within budget and client-defined timeframes.
Taking full ownership and responsibility for all aspects of each contract.
Developing a detailed cost plan/programme for each contract before it begins.
Promoting best practices and ensuring adherence to Company Policies/Procedures in financial management, Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Engineering standards throughout the contract.
Building and maintaining positive working relationships with clients, designers, and consultants to enhance the company's reputation.
Continuously evaluating production levels, team sizes, material alternatives, etc., to ensure maximum efficiency and cost-effective practices are implemented.
Providing guidance and support to your team while ensuring compliance with company procedures during the construction phase.
Delivering fortnightly cost/value and progress/programme updates.Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you should have:
A Civil Engineering Degree (preferred).
A valid CSCS card.
A solid understanding of Health and Safety practices.
A current, valid driving license.Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:
Significant experience managing civil engineering projects, including drainage, concrete, piling, earthworks, utilities, and river works.
Strong site management experience, including the ability to manage budgets and project timelines effectively.
Exceptional communication skills to lead negotiations with senior client representatives.
Familiarity with NEC and JCT contracts is essential.Benefits:
