Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Buying Director EMEA & Buying Men based in Milan. This dual role is responsible for defining and executing the purchasing strategies for both the EMEA region and men’s collections. The ideal candidate will manage the purchasing budget, oversee supplier relationships, and ensure that product assortments meet market demands and drive business performance. Key Accountabilities Define the purchasing strategy for the EMEA region in alignment with the company’s vision and business objectives. Manage and optimize the purchasing budget for both the EMEA region and men’s collections, ensuring a competitive product mix aligned with brand positioning. Monitor market trends and sales data to anticipate customer needs and maximize product performance across both regions and collections. Oversee negotiations with key suppliers and manage strategic partnerships for both the EMEA region and men’s collections. Collaborate with merchandising, design, and marketing teams to ensure consistency across collections, campaigns, and assortments. Lead and develop the buying team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Develop dedicated Brand and collection training documents to support the EMEA Retail sales team knowledge. Identify and select products best suited to the target market for men’s collections, ensuring alignment with market trends, sales data, and creative input. Monitor product performance for men’s collections and adjust assortment strategies to maximize profitability. Maintain relationships with suppliers for men’s collections and negotiate favorable terms. Collaborate with visual merchandising and retail teams to ensure proper product presentation for men’s collections. Provide regular reports and analyses to senior management on collection performance, both for the EMEA region and men’s collections. Key Requirements Proven experience (15 years) in leadership roles within luxury fashion buying, with a focus on both regional (EMEA) and product category (Men’s collections). Strong knowledge of EMEA markets and retail dynamics, with a deep understanding of men’s fashion trends and customer needs. Exceptional analytical, decision-making, and negotiation skills. Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing teams. Fluent in English; proficiency in an additional European language is a plus.
