Job Description
Updating inventory lists Updating and maintaining data on the database Develop and maintain a network of couriers and freight forwarders Always conduct rate negotiations with couriers and freight forwarders to ensure the best rate Coordinating transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments Making special shipping arrangements as necessary Tracking and fixing shipping errors Preparing delivery schedules Receiving and dispatching goods and verifying movements of stock Checking purchase orders against stock levels Managing distribution and shipment budgets Maintaining optimal stock levels at minimum cost Calculating storage and clearance costs Managing incoming and outgoing invoices Preparing bills and invoices Responding to customer inquiries and referring clients to the proper channels Reviewing purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy Ensuring that the quality of all services provided meets the required standards Developing processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized Ensuring OH&S protocols are followed in storage facility Coordinating maintenance and repairs of storage facility Deal with Auditors (internal and external) when required Supervising warehouse operators and overseeing the training and development of team members Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations related to transportation, storage, and distribution Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or equivalent qualification 4 years experience in logistics, exports and imports. Knowledge of Export and Import documentation pertaining to hazardous cargo. 2-3 years in Store management would be advantageous. Proven administrative excellence Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies and procedures Ability to take accountability and lead by example Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills. Identifying problems and implement preventative strategies to minimize risk. Be knowledgeable of health and safety regulations Understanding warehouse and inventory computer systems Understanding safety/security processes and procedures Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members Ability to communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce is essential. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills Excellent organisational and follow-up skills Competent in problem solving, planning and decision making Proficient in MS Office. Attention to detail.
