Description
Social Work p.r.n. has an IMMEDIATE temporary opening for a school-based social worker to provide therapeutic interventions and supportive services to special education students (grades 7-12) and families living in Jefferson County, KS. This is a Monday-Friday full-time position. Ideal candidates would be available for the remaining 2024-2025 academic year.
Primary job responsibility includes the following activities:
1) Assess students' social and emotional needs for developing an individualization treatment plan.
2) Assist students and families with outside service agencies for the purpose of providing referrals
3) Consult with teachers, parents and other personnel to determine students' needs and plan for services.
4) Counsel students, parents and teachers for the purpose of resolving issues that could impede student success.
5) Participate in IEP plan development and meetings.
6) Facilitate social work group sessions (i.e. grief, stress, social thinking).
Position Requirements
Candidates must have MSW from an accredited school of social work and licensure in Kansas. School social work experience and/or experience working with children/adolescents and families is highly desired for this position.
