Hawkwood | People Operations Director (AI scale-up)

Salary: up to €160k stock options Location: Remote with monthly in-person meet-ups in Paris Introduction: Hawkwood are partnering with one of the world's most heavily VC-funded AI scale-ups , in their search for a new People Operations Director . Our client has achieved a multi-billion dollar valuation having only launched in 2023. Led by a founding team with very notable credentials, this fully-remote, AI scale-up are building a highly disruptive product within a huge TAM. About the role: This is a newly-created position, working alongside a Head of People, to build and develop outstanding People processes and systems. The incoming People Operations Director will identify, procure and implement the best tools to equip this scale-up for considerable growth, while maintaining high standards of people experience. Responsibilities include: Oversee cross-team operations to ensure payroll, benefits, compliance, and compensation planning, and ad hoc reporting are performed and managed accurately. Collaborate with the Finance team to make sure people changes are reflected accurately and payroll is managed on time and accurately. Oversee and manage the People tech stack, and manage and build vendor relationships, researching the right tools, advocating for company needs, and syncing systems to work better together. Proactively establish, create, and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures aligned with best practices across all relevant areas. Build out new processes to create operational efficiency and operational excellence both on the People team and cross functionally. Answer and coordinate incoming People-questions and provide advice on and ensure compliance of people policies and procedures. About you: You will have a recent background in an Operations or People Operations/Technology role, within an engineering-led Software business (Deep Tech) You will have experience implementing People systems and tools at an early stage in the lifecycle of a deeply-technical software scale-up You will have experience utilising automation tools (such as Zapier) to facilitate a seamless, efficient, high-standard of People Operations You will have strong project management experience, as well as analytical skills You will be able to operate with discretion; overseeing the management of sensitive data You will enjoy researching the latest People Tech tools and systems, including the adoption of AI agents in People Operations You will have experience in an international business You will have experience working in a business that has seen a scale of 200 ppl You will be capable of managing multiple projects at the same time; effectively context-shifting between each of them, as the business grows and evolves at rapid pace We recognise how challenging this current job market is for candidates, and Hawkwood are therefore striving to provide the best candidate experience we can.
