Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for ensuring that all surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for use in medical procedures. This role is crucial in maintaining the safety and health of patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to strict infection control standards and ensuring the availability of sterile instruments and supplies. Key Responsibilities: Decontamination: Clean and disinfect used surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies to prepare them for sterilization. Sterilization: Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, chemical sterilizers, and other sterilizing systems to ensure all tools meet required standards for cleanliness and sterility. Inspection and Maintenance: Inspect surgical instruments for cleanliness, damage, and functionality. Ensure they are in proper working condition, and report any issues to the supervisor for necessary repair or replacement. Inventory Management: Track and maintain inventory levels of surgical instruments and supplies. Assist in ordering and stocking materials as needed. Packaging: Properly package instruments and supplies for sterilization according to hospital or clinic protocols, ensuring they are ready for immediate use when needed. Quality Assurance: Follow infection control procedures and quality assurance standards for all processes, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry best practices. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of sterilization procedures, inventory, and equipment usage. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and compliant with health regulations. Collaboration: Work closely with surgical and clinical teams to coordinate the timely delivery of sterilized instruments and supplies for scheduled procedures. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, including proper handling of hazardous materials and following protocols to ensure a clean, safe work environment.
