Job Description
Auto Warehousing Company is hiring a Financial Accountant at our corporate office in Tacoma, WA. The salary range for this position is $70,000-$96,000 annually with an anticipated starting salary between $70,000-$85,000 depending on qualifications. This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company performance. Purpose This position is responsible for general accounting and financial reporting functions. This position is currently hybrid, allowing for both remote and in-office work. The hybrid schedule is subject to change at any time at the direction of the Controller or the Board. Essential Duties Participate in the month-end closing process. Specific duties include generating necessary accruals, reviewing GL activity for accuracy and proper GAAP treatment, analyzing financial statements, reconciling balance sheet accounts and maintaining reconciliation documents. Prepare daily bank reporting and wires, including daily bank reconciliations for all entities Prepare property tax returns Handle the CAPEX process and account for CIP and unassigned vehicles. Perform all facets of fixed asset accounting. Maintain BNA Fixed Asset System and corresponding accounting JE's in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and tax requirements, including additions, disposals, depreciation, reconciling to G/L, and tax reporting. Prepare periodic census and other government filings. Facilitate accounting for AWC Cares charitable donation programs. Damage claim tracking and accrual process Vendor maintenance Complete special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager or Controller. Other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager or Controller. Minimum Requirements BA/BS or equivalent degree in accounting, business, or related field. 1-3 years' experience in accounting related positions, with demonstrated professional growth and development. Strong analytical skills Attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and flexibility to work occasional overtime to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently. Self starter and team player. Excellent communication skills and customer service oriented focus.
