Job Description
Automation Help Desk Technician skills K ey Responsibilities: Technical Support: Diagnose and resolve software, drive system, and mechanical issues in filling line machinery. Provide remote and on-site assistance to customers and technicians for troubleshooting and maintenance. Liaison: Communicate effectively with the HQ in Italy to escalate complex issues requiring advanced support. Coordinate with field technicians to ensure seamless problem resolution. Software Expertise: Basic knowledgeof Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7, WinCC , and Beckhoff TwinCAT for programming, diagnostics, and troubleshooting. Configure and troubleshoot motion control systems, including servo drives and VFDs . Basic Mechanical Support: Assist with diagnosing and resolving issues involving mechanical components such as gearboxes, actuators, and conveyor systems. Interpret mechanical drawings and provide guidance for hybrid problems involving mechanical and automation systems. Documentation and Training: Maintain detailed logs of support requests, troubleshooting steps, and solutions. Contribute to creating user guides and FAQs for common technical issues. Qualifications: Diploma or degree in Mechatronics , Automation Engineering , Electrical Engineering , Mechanical Engineering , or a related field. Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial automation or a similar role. Hands-on expertise in Siemens and Beckhoff systems. Knowledge of industrial drive systems and troubleshooting hybrid mechanical and automation issues. Certifications : Millwright Key Skills: Automation Software Proficiency: Expertise in Siemens and Beckhoff platforms. Advanced troubleshooting skills in PLCs, SCADA, and motion control systems. Drive System Knowledge: Strong understanding of servo drives, VFDs, and communication protocols (PROFINET, EtherCAT, Modbus). Basic Mechanical Knowledge: Familiarity with mechanical components and their integration with automation systems. Communication: Excellent customer service skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly. Fluent in English Problem-Solving: Capable of diagnosing and resolving multidisciplinary issues quickly and efficiently. Additional Requirements: Willingness to work flexible hours to support customer needs. Occasional travel to customer sites or HQ in Italy for training and support.
