Plater Fabricator

My busy Chesterfield based client are currently seeking experienced and talented Platers Fabricators for their impressive, modern facility with immediate effect. Duties and Responsibilities: Fabrication and development on bespoke steel fabrications in a heavy engineering environment. Using varying workshop tools, plant and machinery. Working from engineering drawings & specifications. Expert level of building parts/assemblies to engineering drawings. Welding to a high quality. Measuring and marking out plate and sections for cutting, shaping and drilling. Adherence to all health & safety policies and procedures. Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed: Confident plater & fabricator (ideally 3-5 years’ experience) Experience in welding, drilling, tapping & cutting Aptitude for interpretation of engineering drawings and working from scratch Ideally apprentice trained or relevant qualifications. Experience operating fabrication machinery Must have worked within a heavy steel industry (with experience on large structures, for example bridges, staircases, etc…) Confident working from engineering drawings from scratch. Working Hours / Benefits Monday to Thursday 7.00am to 4.00pm Friday 7.00am to 12.00pm Rate of pay - £16 per hour Overtime – 1.5x 12-week temp to perm Modern facilities Free on-site parking Once permanent, they offer such benefits as; healthcare schemes, pensions, etc… These roles are being offered on a ‘Temp to Perm’ basis and so we are only looking to hear from candidates looking for long term work.
