Wildflower Technician

Wildflower Technician • Inkberrow • Full-Time - 40 hours per week Monday to Friday with some weekend work in peak season • £12.95-£13.58 per hour depending on experience. Arden Personnel are working with a company in Inkberrow, who are looking for a temporary Wildflower Technician. Part of their Research and Development Team, Wildflowers production is an expanding part of our clients' business and we are looking to add to their small team based at Inkberrow near Worcester. The Wildflower Technician's day-to-day duties are as follows: To assist with production of wildflower seed. Help develop equipment to provide necessary facilities to grow, harvest and condition seed. Liaise with colleagues to plan workloads. Supervise colleagues and agency staff as and when required to fulfil work tasks. Clean seed over winter to suitable standards. Service and maintain equipment required to produce and dress seed. Manage weeds and pests to minimise damage and contamination of seed. Maintain site to standard to impress visitors. Maintain a safe and clean working environment. The Successful Wildflower Technician must have the following skills/experience: Ideally suited to candidates who have an interest in plants and nature Must be willing to do some overtime and weekend work, as harvesting opportunities are short and weather dependent. An enquiring and problem-solving mindset to look at how native plant species grow, and create new cultivation methods Good knowledge of arable/horticultural techniques and general agricultural practices Experience of farm machinery and equipment Ideally, experience of using GPS RTK steering – or the ability to learn A systematic and methodical approach to work with excellent attention to detail IT literate with a knowledge of Microsoft packages Full driving licence PA1, 2 and 6 certificates would be an advantage, but training can be given to the right candidate What’s on offer for the successful Wildflower Technician?
