School Science Technicians Wanted – January Start Location: Secondary Schools in Birmingham Pay: £100 - £120 per day Hours: Full-time (8am – 4pm, 7.5 hours per day) Are you an experienced School Science Technician looking for a new opportunity from January in Birmingham? T4S Education is currently recruiting skilled Science Technicians for short-term and long-term positions across secondary schools in Birmingham. The roles we have are full time, short term and long-term contracts. Please note that these roles are temporary and could go permanent depending performance. What We’re Looking For: Strong background working in laboratories A science-based degree Experience as a Science Technician in a school environment (advantageous) Responsibilities Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for science lessons and practical experiments. Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment to ensure safety and functionality. Ensuring health and safety regulations are adhered to, including proper handling and storage of chemicals and hazardous materials. Providing support to teachers and students during practical science lessons and experiments. Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs of laboratory equipment and apparatus. Managing stock control and ordering laboratory supplies, chemicals, and equipment. Safely disposing of waste materials and chemicals in line with health and safety protocols. Keeping the science prep room and laboratories clean, tidy, and organized. Assisting with demonstrations and providing technical advice to staff and students. Supporting the delivery of STEM activities and events where required.
