Job Description
Micheldever is looking for a Bank Reconciliation Clerk to reconcile and accurately record banking transactions for assigned bank account(s). This relatively self-contained role requires the successful candidate to be able to manage their own workload independently, working with the treasury team when there are issues, and contacting the depots by email and telephone to resolve under or over banking issues, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the financial records. Position: Accounts Clerk – Bank Reconciliation Essential: Experience of working with cash and banking reconciliations Hybrid Split: 1 day in the office: either a Monday or a Thursday Benefits: Staff discounts on servicing, tyres and MOTs. About the role: Reconcile assigned bank account(s) on a daily basis, ensuring all bankings have been accurately recorded. Ensure all transactions reconcile to the amounts received from the merchant. Deal with all rejected transactions, providing timely responses and appropriate information to the banks to challenge the rejection. Produce a weekly banking report showing banking performance for all Retail depots, identifying outstanding bankings for each depot. Process journals to account for cash from till transactions, ensuring appropriate documentation is obtained to support the transaction, including VAT recovery where appropriate. Provide technical advice to the business on banking related queries and issues. Monitor and report till differences arising from banking discrepancies. Prepare payments within the online banking system and identifying receipts and notifying the business as appropriate. Manage the process of issuing and cancelling company credit cards. Provide cover for other members of the team as appropriate. Other duties as are within the scope and spirit of the job and the title of the position that may arise from time to time or as required by management. About you: Previous experience of working for a large, fast paced organisation, handling and reconciling large volumes of data Experience of working with cash and banking reconciliations Working in a J-Sox or Sox environment Experience of working with an integrated accounting system Desirable but not essential: experience working for a Retail or Wholesale business, experience of Microsoft Dynamics, experience of working with Foreign Currency transactions About our company: Micheldever Tyre Services (MTS) was founded in 1972 as a part-time venture providing car servicing and tyres.
