Retail 2PQE, Commercial Legal Counsel with construction/property exp

Our client is an fast-paced moving B2C business looking for a smart, experienced and highly motivated commercial lawyer with construction OR property/real estate (only a small amount of this exp is required) experience to join their fast-growing team at this highly successful prestigious retail business, based in central London. They are looking for a motivated and highly capable individual, with between 2 years PQE, come with a level of commercial understanding and in-house commercial experience is desired. Reporting to the General Counsel you will have an interesting and varied workload encompassing a broad range of legal matters including: ● You will hit the ground running on commercial contract including marketing, compliance and procurement. Partnering with the business to work on real estate contracts including landlord and tenant leases. ● Working with the business teams to draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial and technology contracts. ● Liaising with the General Counsel l and other members of the wider business. ● Helping build and manage a framework of policies and guidance to manage commercial issues within the business. Skills and experience required: ● Qualified as a solicitor in a UK jurisdiction with at least 1 years’ post-qualification experience. ● Strong academic background, with training at a reputable UK or international law firm. You might already have some in-house experience, but this isn’t essential. ● Highly organised and able to manage concurrent projects and deadlines in a fast-moving environment. ● Strong communicator, skilled at advising and influencing on complex topics in a direct, commercial manner without jargon or sitting on the fence. ● Willing to work on a broad range of projects, to try new things, and to step outside your legal specialism to help the team.
