Job Description

A Business Development Manager in the Marketing Department of an abattoir is pivotal in driving the company's growth by identifying new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and enhancing market presence. This role requires a blend of strategic planning, marketing acumen, and industry-specific knowledge to expand the abattoir's market share and profitability. Job Description: Market Analysis and Strategy: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape. Develop and implement strategic business development plans to penetrate new markets and expand existing ones. Client Acquisition and Relationship Management: Identify and engage potential clients, including meat distributors, retailers, and food service companies. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to ensure long-term partnerships. Sales and Revenue Growth: Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop mutually beneficial proposals and negotiate contract terms. Monitor sales performance, set targets, and implement strategies to achieve revenue goals. Brand Development and Marketing: Work closely with the marketing team to enhance brand awareness and develop marketing materials that effectively communicate the abattoir's value proposition. Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the company's services. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with internal departments, including operations and quality assurance, to ensure client requirements are met. Provide market feedback to product development and supply chain teams to align offerings with market demand. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in business development or marketing are advantageous. Experience: Proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the meat processing or food industry. Demonstrated success in developing and executing business strategies that drive growth. Skills: Strong understanding of market dynamics and customer needs in the meat processing sector. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze complex data and market trends to inform strategic decisions. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Attributes: Self-motivated with a results-driven approach. Adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills. This role is integral to the abattoir's success, requiring a proactive individual capable of driving business growth through strategic initiatives and effective client engagement.
