Fixed Asset Accountant

Job Description Job Description We are inviting applications for the role of Fixed Asset Accountant based in Plymouth, Michigan. The selected candidate will assist with various accounting and finance functions, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and Tax policies. This role involves office-based work, not a remote or hybrid position. Responsibilities: • Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies during account analysis and journal entry preparation. • Assist with monthly and yearly closing processes. • Conduct regular balance sheet account reconciliation. • Analyze actual results against planned results, providing explanations for variances. • Compile reports for senior management in a timely and accurate manner, including actual results, variance reports, personal property tax filings, tax packages, yearly census, and account reconciliations. • Oversee fixed asset reporting, including depreciation, asset lives, personal property tax, and capitalizations. • Liaise with local and state departments on personal property tax matters. • Support the Director of Finance & Accounting with special projects. • Collaborate with the Warehousing/Purchasing Group to ensure compliance with all inventory policies, including physical count programs, reports, and daily transaction processes. • Facilitate interdepartmental group meetings to enhance reporting within the organization. • Perform other duties as assigned.• Must hold a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Fixed Asset Accountant or in a similar role. • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required. • Familiarity with BlackLine software is a must. • Should be adept at using Crystal Reports. • Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is necessary. • Must be competent in handling various Accounting Functions. • Understanding of Accrual Accounting is required. • Prior experience in Auditing is essential. • Should be capable of managing Budget Processes proficiently. • Knowledge of Capitalization is necessary.
