Job Description Job Description We are in search of a Medical Receptionist to join our team at a university-based healthcare facility in the Edison area. In this role, you will facilitate the smooth operation of our healthcare services by assisting with patient registration, managing appointments, and ensuring excellent patient service. This role is based on-site and offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting patients with a calm and patient demeanor • Manage patient check-in and check-out for appointments across multiple departments • Efficiently handle incoming phone calls • Detail patient demographic and insurance information accurately • Conduct insurance verification for patients • Schedule appointments in the system proficiently • Assist patients through the registration process • Order necessary office supplies • Perform data entry tasks and run reports. • Proficiency in patient scheduling, demonstrating the ability to manage and coordinate appointments effectively • Strong skills in calendar management, ensuring smooth scheduling of appointments and meetings • Comprehensive understanding of co-insurance, with the ability to explain and manage related issues • Experience in insurance referrals and verifications, ensuring patient insurance information is accurate and up-to-date • Proficiency in insurance verifications, confirming patient insurance eligibility and benefits • Experience in medical insurance verification, ensuring patient insurance details are accurately recorded and updated • Knowledge of insurance authorization processes, demonstrating the ability to manage and coordinate related tasks • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, insurance providers, and medical staff.
