No Offer Description The University of Bologna, in partnership with three other universities in the Emilia Romagna region and with the support of the Regional Authority, has published the call for applicants for FutureData4EU . This initiative aims to train the data-science experts of tomorrow through an interdisciplinary, international, and cross-sectoral approach. FutureData4EU builds on existing PhD courses and will offer 10 PhD positions in the multi- and trans-disciplinary field of Big Data, focused on six thematic areas: Health Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society Civil Security for Society Digital, Industry and Space Climate, Energy and Mobility Enabling technologies How to apply to the PhD programme For more information about the admission procedure, please visit the FutureData4EU website. Applications must be submitted using the appropriate procedure available on the Studenti Online platform. The deadline for submitting applications is March 10, 2025, at 14:00 (CET Italian time) . The annual salary for researchers is €27,238.83 (gross salary excluding employer’s contributions to tax and social security). This amount includes a living allowance and a mobility allowance to cover mobility expenses (e.g., relocation, travel expenses). Researchers with dependents at the time of recruitment, or who acquire dependents during the project, will be entitled to a family allowance. Eligibility Criteria All candidates of every nationality must meet the following requirements by the application deadline: Mobility: Candidates must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Italy for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the application deadline (from March 11, 2022, to March 10, 2025 ). Compulsory national service and time spent obtaining refugee status under the Geneva Convention are not considered. Qualifications: Candidates must possess a second-cycle academic qualification (e.g., two-year master’s degree, equivalent Advanced Artistic and Musical Training – AFAM qualification). Conditional admissions are possible, but candidates must obtain the necessary qualification by May 26, 2025 . Doctoral Candidate Stage: Candidates must not already possess a doctoral degree. Selection Process To be selected for a doctoral course, candidates must pass a selection process detailed on the call for applications website. The selection will consist of an assessment of eligibility criteria, evaluation of application documents, and a final interview.
