Job Title: Medical Technologist Job Specialty: Core Laboratory Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night; 4x10-Hour (20:15 - 07:00) and 3x12-Hour (20:15 - 07:00) Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Valid Michigan license required Certifications: ASCP, AMT or equivalent credential Must-Have: Experience with Roche Cobas 6000 and 311, Sysmex XN2000, Sysmex Novus/UF5000, Cepheid Genexpert, Siemens RapidPoint 500 Job Description: - Perform clinical laboratory testing, including pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes. - Execute and evaluate quality control and quality assurance procedures. - Operate and perform basic computer programs for documentation and record-keeping. - Anticipate and maintain inventory to ensure uninterrupted testing. - Communicate effectively at all levels inside and outside the organization. - Follow all established laboratory policies and procedures. - Demonstrate responsibility for instrument operation and preventative maintenance. - Troubleshoot equipment problems and take action to resolve them. - Document and report as required by regulatory agencies. - Perform, validate, interpret, and report laboratory test results. - Participate in internal and external proficiency testing. - Identify and resolve problems that may adversely affect results. - Work under specific time constraints. - Wear navy blue scrubs as part of the dress code. - Work every other weekend and holidays as needed. - Complete mandatory 8 hours of non-billable orientation and modules.
