Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Job Duration: 13 or 26 weeks Shift: Night, 7p-7a Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years of experience required; Med/Surg Telemetry experience preferred License: Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of work and residence, or if declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as the primary state of residency, meet the licensure requirements in the home state; for Non-NLC states, current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner required in the state of work Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Must-Have: - Med/Tele experience - English proficiency: Read, write, speak Job Description: - Collect data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or situation. - Analyze assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues. - Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or situation. - Develop a plan prescribing strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes. - Implement the identified plan, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment. - Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers per applicable legal or policy parameters or principles. - Evaluate progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes. - Practice in a manner congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles. - Communicate effectively in all practice areas. - Collaborate with healthcare consumers and other key stakeholders in the conduct of nursing practice. - Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession. - Seek knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice and promotes futuristic thinking. - Integrate evidence and research findings into practice. - Contribute to quality nursing practice. - Evaluate own and others' nursing practice regarding professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations. - Utilize appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible. - Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner. - Practice ethically. - Promote shared governance or facility decision-making activities, developing and nurturing research to positively affect clinical outcomes and promotion. Physical Requirements: - Work involves walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. - Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. - Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch, as well as finger dexterity. - Critical thinking and ability to concentrate. - Must respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Note: Specific days off are not approved for certain holidays, and specific scrub color is required (navy blue).
