Job Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: MedSurg/Telemetry Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 7p-7a Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years (MedSurg/Telemetry experience preferred) License: Current RN license required or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner. For National License Compact (NLC) states, meet licensure requirements in your home state. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Must-Have: - Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider status according to the American Heart Association - English language proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing Job Description: - Collect data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or the situation - Analyze assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues - Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or the situation - Develop a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes - Implement the identified plan, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment - Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with legal or policy parameters or principles - Evaluate progress toward the attainment of goals and outcomes - Practice in a manner congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles - Communicate effectively in all areas of practice - Collaborate with healthcare consumers and other key stakeholders in the conduct of nursing practice - Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession - Seek knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice and promotes futuristic thinking - Integrate evidence and research findings into practice - Contribute to quality nursing practice - Evaluate one's own and others’ nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations - Utilize appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible - Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner - Practice ethically - Promote shared governance or facility decision-making activities, developing and nurturing research to positively affect clinical outcomes and promotion Physical Requirements: - Work involves walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling - Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies - Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch required - Finger dexterity needed - Critical thinking and ability to concentrate - Quick response required to changes in patient and/or unit conditions Schedule Note: RTO NOT approved for Halloween; only one holiday for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
