Job Description

Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Oncology AC Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: Less than 1 year required, direct patient care experience preferred License: RN - Single State or Multi-state Compact Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: - Graduation from an accredited/approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours - Ability to read, write, and speak the English language - Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills - Customer service skills - Ability to function in a fast-paced environment - Decisive, composed, and respectful response to emergencies - Excellent time management skills - Strong critical thinking and analytical skills - Basic computer skills Description: The RN Clinical Nurse is an integral member of an interdisciplinary team committed to providing high-quality, safe, and individualized patient care. Working under the guidance of Nurse Managers and other leaders, the RN Clinical Nurse practices within a clinical environment guided by a shared governance model. Competencies are derived from evidence-based practice and research models. The nurse is expected to uphold nursing standards as outlined by professional guidelines and ethical codes. Core Responsibilities include performing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, and planning) and implementing individualized patient care using evidence-based practice. The nurse ensures optimal patient care outcomes by fostering caring partnerships and adapting service delivery to meet diverse patient needs. Teamwork and collaboration are vital, with a focus on effective communication and a respectful, inclusive clinical environment. The role includes promoting safe, quality patient care and supporting recruitment and retention within the healthcare team. Professional development is encouraged through continuous competency assessments, mandatory education, and mentoring new nurses. Evidence-based practice and research are integral to the role, with participation in activities aimed at improving patient care products and processes. Efficient use of resources and supporting protocol development for best practice outcomes are key elements of the role. The RN Clinical Nurse complies with all organizational policies and standards to ensure patient and staff safety. The nurse proactively plans patient care across the continuum and supports efficient resource utilization. Additional duties may be assigned as required.
