Junior Operational Assistant

Requirements A relevant degree or diploma in agriculture, engineering, or related field. At least one years experience in agriculture or tunnel production, systems control, or a similar role. Basic knowledge of climate control and irrigation systems. Detail orientated, with good problem-solving skills. Willing to learn and work under guidance. Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English. Available to be on water duty for one weekend per month. Responsibilities Pruning, training and harvesting of various crops. Maintaining crops in tunnels. Removing plant material. Pollination of plants. Any other production tasks. Monitoring and installing climate control systems across three climate-controlled tunnels, including temperature control, humidity, light intensity and ventilation. Assist with troubleshooting and maintenance of climate control equipment. Implement emergency procedures during power interruptions or system errors. Follow seasonal adjustment guidelines as instructed by the operations manager. Manage irrigation schedules, water supply, and hardware components on Netafim's irrigation system. Oversee Netafims system settings, including alarms and troubleshooting. Monitor water and fertilizer analyses (EC, pH, volume). Ensure effective fertilizer application and buffer processes. Ensure that emergency procedures are followed and escalate any issues to the operational manager.
