Software Quality Assurance Engineer- Access Control

Position: Software Quality Assurance Engineer- Access Control Company: NAPCO Security Technologies, Inc. Location: Amityville, NY The Company: NAPCO Security Technologies, Inc., headquarters in Amityville, Long Island NY, is a world-wide leader in the manufacturing of electronic security systems for over 45 years is seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer. This position will be responsible for performing hands on tests of PC/Windows/IOS/Android based software, developing, and executing a software test and certification strategy using manual, automated and semi-automated tests. Products to be tested include microcomputer based embedded firmware, Enterprise Windows based applications, Apple IOS and Android based apps. Products are state of the art access control, security, video, and bio-metric devices which operate in standalone, networked and client-server environments over LANs and the Internet. Requirements: • 4 years of experience as a QA Technician or equivalent • Experience in windows based and web-based software testing communicating with custom hardware devices. • Experience in mainlining different OS environments and testing software using various combination of browsers and windows settings. • Good understanding of networking and windows OS system principles. • Experience in structured test approaches including stress testing, regression testing, boundary conditions, etc. is required. • Knowledge in hardware configuration including serial port connection, Ethernet, wireless and wired networks. • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle along with basic understanding of Waterfall and Agile Ability to anticipate user behavior or risks to system. • Knowledge of automated test tools is a plus • Experience writing sample queries for MS SQL databases is a plus. • Attention to detail and the ability to learn new products. • Must have proficient PC skills and knowledge of MS Office applications. • Background in testing or maintenance of access control systems is a major plus • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
