Full Stack Developer

We have an exciting opportunity here at AllPoints Fibre (APFN) to welcome a Full Stack Developer. We would love to speak with experienced back end developers who have some experience in coding environments and a strong understanding in the concepts and foundational elements of coding and testing. We are looking for someone who has extensive commercial experience in backend languages such as PHP or Java. The role will suit someone whois eager to learn, has strong analytical and problem solving skills with an ability to work on multiple things at once. You will need: Strong understanding of PHP / Javaor similar backend languages Experience with object-oriented programming concepts Experience with any modern web framework Knowledgeable in API concepts Understanding of database concepts and some experience with MySQL or similar databases Knowledge of software testing principles Understanding of containerization concepts Technologies we work with: PHP 8 with Laravel framework MySQL databases Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and MVC architecture RESTful APIs and JSON Git version control and GitHub Testing frameworks (PHPUnit) Docker containerization About the role, the team and the business: Acting within an Agile software development team, you will build, test, document, and maintain services and APIs that help our customers (internal and external) serve their needs. We operate a very flat structure in our development teams so that each team member is expected to manage their own workload, and pick the most appropriate thing to work on next. That means every team member needs to be able to perform almost any task We want everybody to be fully prepared for every sprint, and know whats coming up, but youll be expected to challenge if any information is unclear or ambiguous. Our APIs connect to a myriad of other systems, both in-house and external, which means working with cutting-edge API technology, but also being willing and able to work with older APIs where the need arises. Our work is a very collaborative process, so youll need to get involved in planning it, estimating it, and reviewing it. We plan the teams work, not your work, so youll need to be actively involved in choosing the most important things to get done.
