Role Description. - This is a full-time on-site role in Chennai for a Magento Developer at Gabriel & Co. - The Magento Developer will be responsible for back-end web development, front-end development, object-oriented programming (OOP), programming, and e-commerce tasks. Key Responsibilities : Magento Development : - Develop, customize, and maintain Magento-based e-commerce websites. - Implement and configure Magento themes, extensions, and custom modules. - Optimize website performance and ensure scalability. Integration and APIs : - Integrate third-party tools and services (e.g , payment gateways, shipping providers, and CRM systems). - Develop and maintain APIs for external system integrations. Code Quality and Best Practices : - Write clean, well-documented, and reusable code. - Follow Magento's coding standards and best practices. Troubleshooting and Support : - Identify and resolve technical issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks. - Provide post-deployment support and maintenance. Collaboration : - Work closely with UX/UI designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality projects. - Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers. Required Skills and Qualifications : Technical Expertise : - Minimum 5 years of experience in Magento development (Magento 2 is mandatory). - Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks/libraries (e.g , Knockout.js, RequireJS). - Experience with Magento architecture, including MVC frameworks, dependency injection, and service contracts. E-commerce Expertise : - In-depth knowledge of e-commerce processes and best practices. - Familiarity with Magento's core modules, such as catalog, checkout, and order management. Tools and Platforms : - Experience with version control systems like Git. - Proficiency in working with LAMP/LEMP stack. - Familiarity with deployment tools like Docker, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD. Additional Skills : - Strong understanding of SEO, analytics, and performance optimization. - Knowledge of PWA Studio, GraphQL, and headless Magento is a plus. (ref:hirist.tech)
