About the Role : The Informatica Developer with 9-13 years of experience plays a senior role in the data integration lifecycle, leading complex data integration projects using Informatica PowerCenter, Informatica Cloud, and other relevant data management technologies. In this capacity, the developer will take ownership of the entire ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and optimized data flows between multiple systems. You will lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced data integration solutions, working with large datasets from disparate sources and transforming them into usable information for decision-making and business intelligence. This role requires strong leadership and technical expertise, as well as an ability to drive innovation and best practices across the team and organization. Key Responsibilities : Lead ETL Development and Optimization : - Design and Architect ETL Solutions: Lead the design and architecture of complex ETL workflows, ensuring data is integrated efficiently from multiple systems into target data warehouses, data lakes, or cloud platforms. Guide and oversee the development of ETL mappings, sessions, workflows, and transformations, ensuring they adhere to best practices. - Optimization of ETL Jobs: Lead efforts in optimizing performance across large and complex ETL processes. This includes identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, utilizing techniques such as pushdown optimization, partitioning, and parallel processing to ensure data loads happen efficiently and within required timeframes. - Data Transformation and Cleansing: Develop robust data transformation logic to meet advanced business requirements, and lead efforts in ensuring that data is cleansed, validated, and formatted to meet stringent data quality standards. Leverage advanced Informatica transformations like Router, Lookup, Aggregator, Sorter, and Expression to meet varied business needs. Data Integration and Governance : - Integration Across Multiple Sources: Oversee the integration of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from diverse systems and technologies such as relational databases (SQL, Oracle), cloud-based sources (AWS, Azure), flat files, and web services. - Implement Data Governance and Quality: Take ownership of data governance practices, ensuring that all data integration solutions adhere to corporate standards for data quality, security, and privacy. Implement robust data validation and cleansing rules across the ETL workflows to ensure high-quality data is consistently loaded into target systems. - Metadata Management: Oversee the management of metadata and data lineage to ensure transparency in data transformation and integration processes. Lead efforts in documenting data flows, transformation logic, and any related dependencies. Mentorship and Leadership : - Lead and Mentor Junior Developers: Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members. Review code, help troubleshoot complex issues, and assist in the skill development of team members. Share best practices and insights on data integration, performance optimization, and overall solution architecture. - Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and cross-functional teams to understand evolving business requirements and translate them into effective data integration solutions. Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment on project goals. Job Scheduling, Monitoring, and Troubleshooting : - ETL Job Scheduling: Oversee the scheduling and automation of ETL jobs using Informatica Workflow Manager, ensuring jobs are executed on time and with minimal manual intervention. Develop scheduling strategies that align with business needs, ensuring data flows are delivered in a timely manner. - Performance Monitoring: Monitor the health and performance of all ETL processes and workflows, identifying and addressing issues before they impact downstream systems. Ensure the stability and reliability of the ETL jobs in production by reviewing session logs, performance metrics, and job status reports. - Troubleshooting and Incident Resolution: Troubleshoot complex issues related to data loading, transformation failures, and connectivity issues across integrated systems. Lead efforts in resolving critical issues and work with other technical teams to ensure minimal downtime. Advanced Performance Tuning : - SQL Performance Tuning: Take charge of performance tuning for complex SQL queries and database optimizations to ensure efficient data processing. Work closely with database administrators (DBAs) to fine-tune database performance and make sure that the database schema is optimized for ETL processes. - System Performance Tuning: Conduct in-depth performance analysis of ETL processes, and recommend architectural or infrastructure changes as necessary. Utilize advanced performance tuning techniques in Informatica and database systems to handle large-scale data integration processes more efficiently. Cloud-Based Data Integration and Architecture : - Cloud Integration: Leverage cloud technologies to design and implement cloud-based data integration solutions using tools like Informatica Cloud Data Integration, AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure. Migrate legacy on-premise ETL jobs to cloud platforms where necessary. - Cloud Storage and Data Services: Integrate with cloud storage services (e.g., Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage) and cloud data warehouses (e.g., Redshift, Azure Synapse) to handle large-scale data storage and processing. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing : - Technical Documentation: Lead efforts in documenting complex ETL processes, data transformations, and solution designs. Ensure that all mappings, workflows, and data transformations are thoroughly documented for auditing, troubleshooting, and future enhancement purposes. - Knowledge Sharing: Share expertise and knowledge of best practices, advanced techniques, and new tools with the wider development team. Contribute to knowledge repositories and conduct internal training sessions to continuously elevate the team's technical capabilities. Required Skills and Qualifications : Core Technical Skills : - Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica Cloud: Deep expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining ETL workflows using Informatica PowerCenter. Extensive experience with Informatica Cloud Data Integration for cloud-based data integration projects. - SQL Expertise: Advanced SQL skills with a proven track record in query optimization, performance tuning, and database integration. Experience with PL/SQL or T-SQL for data extraction and transformation. - Database Knowledge: Extensive experience working with major relational database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. Proficiency in database performance tuning. - Cloud Integration: Proficiency in cloud-based data integration tools and services, particularly with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Experience in working with cloud data services, storage solutions, and cloud-based ETL pipelines. - Data Warehousing and Data Architecture: In-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts, star schema, snowflake schema, and dimensional modeling. Knowledge of data governance, data security, and compliance standards. Soft Skills : - Leadership: Strong leadership skills, with experience in leading teams and mentoring junior developers.
