Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg - $1,738 per week in Hickory, NC

Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Medical Surgical Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00-07:00 Guaranteed Hours: 36 weekly Experience: 1-2 years License: NC or compact license Certifications: Basic Life Support Must-Have: - Cerner experience - IV competency Job Description: - Work in a facility with a 355-bed capacity, including specialized centers such as brain, cancer, heart, lung, orthopedics, general and vascular surgery, surgical weight loss, women's center, and a Level 3 NICU. - Participate in a 32-bed emergency department, 29-bed inpatient rehabilitation, and 15-bed surgical suite and imaging. - Support an 81-bed adult behavioral health hospital. - Be prepared to float to surgical, neuro, or intermediate units as needed, taking med-surg level patients. - Manage a patient ratio of 1:6. - Utilize equipment such as Baxter IV pumps, SCD machines, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and PCA pumps. - Work within the Cerner EHR system. - Provide care primarily for adult and geriatric populations. - Encounter common diagnoses like COPD exacerbation, GI bleed, diabetic complications, wound care, pancreatitis, sickle cell crisis, end-of-life care/hospice, falls, weakness, sepsis, and infection. - Exhibit a strong personality fit by being a team player, patient advocate, and skilled in maintaining workflow in a busy environment. - Required education is an associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing. - Follow the dress code: any color scrubs.
