Background : The Data team at PRTH is responsible for building next generation data and information solutions across our Payment and Banking solutions. We have an incredible staff of Data Engineers , Quality engineers, Data Analysts and Data Scientists that align to execute on our vision. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead and inspire our Data Engineering team. As the Engineering Manager, you will oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data platforms, ensuring the delivery of scalable, reliable, and high-performance data solutions. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to meet business goals. Responsibilities : Leadership & Team Management : - Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Data Engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. - Develop career growth plans and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations. - Hire, onboard, and retain top talent to strengthen the team. Technical Strategy and Delivery : - Provide guidance on data architecture and lead the selection of technologies, tools, and frameworks. - Oversee the design and implementation of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data infrastructure to meet business needs. - Drive the adoption of best practices in data engineering, including scalability, reliability, and data governance. Collaboration & Cross-functional Leadership : - Partner with data analytics and data science, product, and business teams to understand data needs and align technical efforts with business objectives. - Communicate complex technical concepts and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders. - Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization. Innovation & Continuous Improvement : - Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in data engineering, big data, and cloud technologies. - Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team. Requirements : - 7 years of experience in data engineering, with 3 years in a leadership or managerial role. - Strong technical expertise in data engineering, including proficiency with : 1. Data pipeline Architecture and design (ETL, ELT) 2. Data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake) 3. Cloud platforms (AWS) 4. SQL, Python, Spark and other scripting languages 5. CI/CD, version control, and data quality management practices - Demonstrated experience leading and scaling data engineering teams in fast-paced, dynamic environments. - Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. - Passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent.
