Senior Quality Assurance Engineer - TV & OTT Platforms

Job Title : Senior QA Engineer (TV & OTT Platforms) Location : Bangalore Experience : 6-9 Years Skills Required : Automation, Manual, Televation domain Key Responsibilities : - Define and implement the overall test automation strategy for TV and OTT platforms, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements. - Lead the planning, execution, and reporting of test automation activities. - Evaluate and select appropriate test automation tools and frameworks based on project needs. - Drive the adoption of automation best practices across the QA team. - Design, develop, and maintain a scalable and robust Test Automation Framework (TAF) for TV and OTT applications. - Provide comprehensive TAF onboarding, training, and knowledge transfer to QA team members. - Ensure the TAF is continuously improved and updated to support evolving testing needs. - Implement and maintain proper version control of the TAF. - Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. - Provide technical guidance and support to team members, ensuring adherence to best testing practices. - Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members. - Delegate tasks efficiently and manage team workload. - Provide timely and effective TAF user support, troubleshooting automation-related issues. - Analyze and resolve automation failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. - Continuously enhance test coverage by identifying and automating new test cases. - Perform manual QA for TV Box applications, validating UI/UX, performance, and functionality. - Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for manual testing. - Ensure thorough testing of all features and functionalities. - Identify, document, and track defects using defect tracking tools (JIRA). - Collaborate with the development team to ensure timely resolution of defects. - Generate detailed test reports and metrics to communicate testing progress and results. - Work closely with development, product, and DevOps teams to enhance testing strategies and QA processes. - Identify and implement process improvements to optimize testing efficiency and effectiveness. - Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in test automation and QA. Required Skills & Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. - 6-9 years of experience in manual and automated QA for TV, OTT platforms, or web applications. - Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, frameworks, and QA best practices (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Test-Driven Development). - Proven experience in leading and mentoring QA teams, with a demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and collaboration. - Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks, including : 1. Selenium (WebDriver, Grid) 2. Cypress 3. Appium 4. API testing tools (Postman, Rest Assured) - Experience with scripting languages such as Javascript, Python, or Java. - Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools (JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr). - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment. - - Ability to work independently and proactively contribute to the team's success in a fast-paced environment. - Experience with source control systems such as Git. Bonus Points : - Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and their integration with QA processes - Exposure to Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). - Experience working with media streaming applications and protocols (HLS, DASH). - Familiarity with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner) and security testing for OTT platforms. - Experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud. - Experience with mobile testing on Android TV, or Apple TV. - Experience in creating and maintaining docker containers.
