Senior Technical Project Manager - DataLake & Data Warehousing

Job Summary : We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Warehouse/Data Lake Project Manager with a strong background in Agile methodologies. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex data warehousing and data lake projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to implement robust and scalable data solutions. Responsibilities : Project Planning and Execution : - Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders. - Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies. - Manage project execution, ensuring adherence to Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). - Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to stakeholders. - Identify and mitigate project risks and issues. Agile Project Management : - Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. - Act as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach, promoting Agile principles and practices. - Manage product backlog and prioritize user stories. - Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the Agile team. - Drive continuous improvement in Agile processes. Data Warehouse and Data Lake Management : - Oversee the design, development, and implementation of data warehouse and data lake solutions. - Ensure data quality, integrity, and security. - Manage data integration and ETL/ELT processes. - Coordinate with data engineers to optimize data storage and processing. - Define and implement data governance policies. Stakeholder Management : - Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, data engineers, and data scientists. - Communicate project status and updates effectively. - Gather and document business requirements. - Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with project goals. Resource Management : - Allocate and manage project resources effectively. - Coordinate with external vendors and contractors. - Ensure team members have the necessary tools and resources to perform their tasks. Monitor and manage project budget. Technical Leadership : - Provide technical guidance and support to the project team. - Stay up-to-date with the latest data warehousing and data lake technologies. - Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies. - Ensure adherence to best practices for data management and development. Qualifications : Education : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. - PMP, Scrum Master, or other relevant certifications (preferred). Experience : - 7 years of experience in project management, preferably in data warehousing or data lake projects. - Proven experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). - Experience managing complex data projects. - Strong understanding of data warehousing and data lake concepts and technologies. Technical Skills : - Familiarity with data warehousing and data lake platforms (i.e., Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery, Hadoop, Spark). - Experience with ETL/ELT tools (i.e., Informatica, Talend, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory). - Knowledge of SQL and data modeling. - Understanding of data governance and data security principles.
