Job Description
Job Summary : We are seeking a skilled and experienced ETL Developer to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to support our data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of data integration principles, database technologies, and ETL tools. Key Responsibilities : ETL Development & Design : - Design, develop, and implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various source systems into data warehouses or data lakes. - Develop and maintain ETL workflows, mappings, and transformations. - Optimize ETL processes for performance and scalability. - Create and maintain technical documentation for ETL processes. Data Integration & Transformation : - Integrate data from diverse sources, including databases, APIs, flat files, and cloud services. - Perform data cleansing, validation, and transformation to ensure data quality and consistency. - Implement data quality checks and error handling mechanisms. - Develop and maintain data dictionaries and data models. Database Management : - Design and implement database schemas for data warehousing and reporting. - Write complex SQL queries and stored procedures. - Optimize database performance for ETL processes. - Manage and maintain database environments. ETL Tool Management : - Utilize and manage ETL tools (e., Informatica PowerCenter, Talend, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Apache Airflow). - Develop and maintain ETL metadata and configuration. - Troubleshoot and resolve ETL tool-related issues. Testing & Debugging : - Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and system tests for ETL processes. - Debug and troubleshoot ETL issues and performance bottlenecks. - Perform data validation and reconciliation. Collaboration & Communication : - Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements. - Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders. - Participate in agile development processes. Performance Monitoring : - Monitor ETL processes and data pipelines for performance, reliability, and data quality. - Implement monitoring and alerting systems for ETL processes. - Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and data quality issues. Data Governance & Security : - Implement data governance and security policies for ETL processes. - Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations. Qualifications : - Experience : 4 years of experience in ETL development. - ETL Tools : Proficiency in one or more ETL tools (e., Informatica PowerCenter, Talend, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Apache Airflow). - Database Skills : Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and/or NoSQL databases. - Data Integration : Experience with data integration and transformation techniques. - Programming Skills : Basic programming skills (e., Python, Java) for scripting and automation. - Operating Systems : Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems. Soft Skills : - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy (ref:hirist.tech)
