Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: GA or Compact license must be in hand at the time of submission Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Minimum of 2 years of experience; first-timers are accepted Job Description: - Patient population includes adults to geriatrics. - General diagnoses include ARDS, Sepsis, Stroke, STEMI, DKA, post-op complications, cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, liver failure, drug overdose, ESRD on CRRT. - Block scheduling is not guaranteed. - No pairing with other travelers, regardless of the unit. - Patient ratio/census: 1:2-3 (be prepared for the possibility of taking a third patient). - 24 rooms with an average daily census of 19. - Utilize systems such as Pyxis, Epic, SBAR. - Scrub color: Navy Blue. - Maximum RTO: 7 days. - Work every other weekend and be available to float within the facility. - If a major holiday falls during the assignment period, expect to work it. If two major holidays fall within the assignment, expect to work both. If three major holidays fall during the assignment, expect to work two. - Full compliance is required to start on time; non-compliance may result in a 2-week delay due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule. - Participate in a pre-screening process reviewed for clinical fit. - Modules are non-billable and completed during orientation, varying by specialty. - Orientation: 13 hours, non-billable.
