Job Description

Bilingual, CAD Specification Specialist: 1-Year Contract Specific Accountabilities: Create design specification packages with 2D, isometric drawing, line drawing, rendering and accurate Bill of Material using AutoCAD CAP and / or CET. Complete planning application service deliverables within a formal contract and / or within the hours allocated for each project task assigned. Must be able to multi-task projects, follow procedures set out in the Specification team, drawing quality, timeline and deliverables for each Dept. Review deficiencies internally with Specification Manager, Customer Service Rep and Sales reps and arrange corrections. Commit to ongoing product training and development. Work with remote teams and clients while nurturing internal relationships through collaboration. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Diploma or University Degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Design or Architectural Technology or applicable experience in commercial furniture design. Minimum 1 to 2 years experience in specifying commercial office furniture, using AutoCAD, CAP, Giza, Project Matrix or any spec tool. Bilingual in French and English a must. CET background is an asset. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Specifying experience with Global Upholstery / Global Contract is an asset. Good knowledge in system furniture and familiar with Canadian industry electrical codes and standards. Ability to specify a complete project with a mixture of product lines, from system furniture, casegood and ancillary product. Comprehensive knowledge of techniques, tools and principles in the production of furniture installation drawings and furniture specifications. Strong written and communication skills. Commitment to timeline and takes ownership on timeline and deliverables on assigned projects. Creative and resourceful. Thrive in a team environment and work well with others. Superior attention to detail, memory, organizational and time management skills. Hybrid role with the flexibility to work from home 2-3 times a week after probation period. Training and meetings to be held remotely or on site as needed. This role requires a range of duties, including but not limited to this job description.
