Job Description

Job title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Chairty: Community focused charity Contract: Temporary, 3 months Pay: £20 PAYE, plus £2.41 holiday pay per hour Hours: Part time, 18 hours per week, flexible working hours Location: Dorset Hybrid: Flexible, ideally one day per week in the office Charity People are thrilled to be working with a community-based charity to find their interim CEO as they continue to improve the economic, social, environmental, and personal wellbeing for all in their local communities. They are seeking a CEO who can lead them with vision and strategic oversight, ensuring effective governance, financial resilience, and sustainable growth. This role has three direct reports, and the rest of the charity is run with proactive and passionate volunteers Key responsibilities include: Leadership & Governance: Provide strategic direction, ensuring compliance with charity law and best governance practices. Financial & Risk Management: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring sustainability and transparency. Fundraising & Revenue Generation: Lead on major funding applications, build strong donor relationships, and develop income-generating initiatives. Business & Strategic Development: Shape the charity's future, identifying growth opportunities and driving innovation. Community & Stakeholder Engagement: Foster relationships with local authorities, businesses, and community partners. Capital Project Management: Oversee significant capital investments, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timeline. Team & Volunteer Management: Build and inspire a small but dedicated team, while nurturing a thriving volunteer culture. Property & Resource Management: Ensure efficient use and maintenance of the charity's property portfolio. The charity is looking for a strategic thinker with strong financial acumen, excellent relationship building skills and a hands-on leader who can balance strategic oversight with operational delivery. Experience in property and capital project management is an advantage.
