Job Title: Care Assistant Location: Trinity House, 15 Kilrea Road, Garvagh Salary Scale: £12.40 per hour (no NVQ) £12.46 per hour with NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care £12.50 per hour with NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care Hours: Full and part time hours available (days & nights) Responsible to: The Home Manager MAIN FUNCTION OF JOB To provide care and support for residents within the Christian ethos and aims of Trinity House. BACKGROUND INFORMATION Trinity House is one of 6 homes for older people run by the Council for Social Witness (Older People Services) and is situated at 15 Kilrea Road, Garvagh. The Home accommodates 50 residents who have a variety of physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs and varying levels of dependency, including a 16 bed Unit for those with a diagnosis of dementia. The Home operates a No Smoking Policy CRITERIA QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE Essential Evidence an understanding of and respect for the needs of older people; Willing to undertake relevant training e.g. induction training, or NVQ / QCF level 2 Proficiency in understanding, communicating and writing in English to level required by the duties of the post Basic numeracy required by the duties of the post (as endorsed by appropriate qualification or use of numeracy skills in a work or home environment).
