This dual role ensures compliance with the VFC program across three pediatric clinics and oversees prescription authorization processes to support efficient, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of clinical expertise, program coordination skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service delivery and compliance. Key Responsibilities Vaccine for Children (VFC) Program Coordination: Serve as the VFC Program Coordinator, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations across three pediatric clinics. Conduct regular VFC program audits to verify adherence to inventory management, storage, handling, and record-keeping standards. Oversee vaccine storage and handling processes, including temperature monitoring and emergency protocols. Order, receive, and track VFC vaccine inventory to prevent shortages or overstocking. Train clinical and administrative staff on VFC program requirements, including eligibility screening, documentation, and proper vaccine administration. Prepare and submit required reports to state and federal agencies accurately and on time. Act as the primary liaison for VFC program updates, inspections, and communications with regulatory bodies. Prescription Authorization: Manage prior authorization requests for pediatric and adult prescriptions, ensuring timely submission and resolution. Collaborate with providers, pharmacies, and insurance companies to resolve prescription-related barriers. Maintain accurate documentation of all prescription authorization activities within the electronic medical records (EMR) system. Communicate prescription authorization statuses to providers and patients as needed. Qualifications Required: Active LPN license in the state of Maryland. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in pediatrics or an FQHC. Knowledge of VFC program requirements and compliance standards. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Preferred: Certified in vaccine administration and handling. Bilingual proficiency preferred. Experience with prescription authorization and prior authorization workflows. Work Environment This position requires travel between three pediatric clinics. The role operates in a clinical setting with regular use of standard office and medical equipment.
